Welcome to WIB
The International Instrument Users' Association.
WIB provides process instrumentation evaluation- and assessment services for- and on behalf of- its industrial user member companies. WIB operates in close collaboration -through the 'SWE' federation- with 'sister' Associations, EXERA in France and SIREP/EI in the UK. A co-operation agreement exists with the NAMUR organisation in Germany.

    New WIB member: Smurfit Kappa Group


    We are very pleased to anounce a new WIB membership (nr 30 !) of the Netherlands Technological centre of the Smurfit Kappa Group (SKG).
    SKG is a world leader in paper-based packaging products. The group operates in 21 countries in Europe (as well as in 9 countries in Latin America) and is the European leader in containerboard, solidboard, corrugated and solidboard packaging materials.
    SKG is also the industry leader of paper products recycling in Europe, sourcing approximately 5 million tonnes of recovered paper as raw material for the group’s mills.
    R&D Centres in Sweden and the Netherlands and the Technological Centre in the Netherlands support SKG’s operations. The Smurfit Kappa Group Corporate headquarter is located in Dublin, Ireland.

    New WIB member: EdeA

    EdeA was founded in 1996 and is responsible for the operation of facilities in which produce and distribute steam, electricity, water and various types of air and technical gases for various customer plants in the Geleen industrial area.

     

    New WIB member: Solar Turbines


    Headquartered in San Diego, California, USA, Solar Turbines Incorporated, a subsidiary of Caterpillar Inc., is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of industrial gas turbines.

    Products from Solar Turbines play an important role in the development of oil, natural gas and power generation projects around the world.

    Solar uses C&A products from various origins in their packaged products, but do not themselves manufacture- nor are affiliated to- C&A products.

    WIB Plant Security standard

    The first copy of the WIB Plant Security standard was presented during the mini-seminar to WIB management for formal distribution. The Standard was created in close collaboration between the WIB Plant Security Working Group and Wurldtech Security Technologies.

    Organisations

    WIB has two sister organisations, Evaluation International/SIREP (United Kingdom)
    and EXERA (France), who together form EWE International Instrument Users' Associations (former SWE). The EWE Liaison has a common mission statement. All EI, WIB, EXERA reports are distributed amongst each other's members. WIB has a close relationship with the German end-users' organisation NAMUR (International User Association of Automation Technology in Process Industries).     Independent Laboratories
    For evaluation-, test- and assessment services WIB works together with independent laboratories like for example TNO, Kema, NMi, C&TSi and SP.
